Reply: It is a very common problem that Ntkrnlpa.exe file may lead to the system blue screen; especially in Windows 7, such problem happens often. In the following I take Windows 7 as an example to teach you how to solve this problem.
This method is also suitable for other versions of the operating system. There are mainly two causes for the system blue screen:1. The system was infected with the virus.
2. The ntkrnlpa.exe file is modified or replaced by other programs, so the wrong file can lead to the system blue screen.
The solution for the first cause:This process is a protective process, and appears when the computer repeatedly failed to start. In the normal circumstances, the process will not appear. If under normal circumstance the process is found, it may be W32.Bolzano virus.
Check your Task Manager for ntkrnlpa.exe. If it appears, first download anti-virus software (
click here to download) to check the system for the existence of the virus.
The solution for the second cause:If this process does not appear in the Task Manager, or the system does not have a virus, then it is likely that the file version is wrong, because many third-party programs may modify or replace the file.
Then you just need to retrieve the original version of the file. Here is the method: (
Hint: before that, enter the safe mode first.)
In the C:\Windows\ path search "ntkrnlpa.exe" and there may be a few of them.
Among them, there is a file in C:\Windows\winsxs\Backup\, while this file name is actually very long on my machine as:
X86_microsoft-windows-os-kernel_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.17514_none_6e37cb8c12652b73_ntkrnlpa.exe_165c312a
This file is automatically backed up by the system during the installation of the system.
Copy this file to other locations, and modify the file name into: ntkrnlpa.exe. Then copy it to C:\Windows\ system32\, and overwrite the file with the same name. Remember to back up the original file before overwriting.
If you just follow the send method directly and it does not solve the problem, I suggest you first use anti-virus software to scan your system, to confirm the system is not infected by the virus, as ntkrnlpa.exe is a file usually modified by various viruses.
Click here to download antivirus software. In general, if the system is not infected by the virus, the second method can solve this problem to a large extent.
